There are 1.400 million km3 water on the world according to the United Nations and Environment Programme. But %97,5 of this water is salty (from sea and ocean) however %2,5 is fresh water. %69,5 of fresh water exists as ice on poles and on frozen soil. %30,1 of fresh water is ground water, and the rest (%0,4) is surface and atmosphore waters. That means easily attainable and usable water is %0,4 of all water resources. And %85 of used water in the world is used by %12 of total population. The countries that have less than 1.000 m3 water per capita are defined as water poor countries, the countries that have 1.000-3.000 m3 water are defined as countries that have stress of water, and the countries that have more than 10.000 m3 water called countries that are rich of water.
